Markel Johnson will be playing football for Army after the Liberty County football standout committed to the United States Military Academy on Feb. 5. Johnson, a 5-foot-9, 190 pound two-way star for the Panthers, carried the ball 129 times for 804 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2019 while averaging 11.8 tackles per game as a linebacker. On his Twitter accounty, Johnson said he wanted to thank God “for allowing me to have this opportunity and giving me the talent to play at the next level. I would like to thank my family for their support and unconditional love and my coaches who made these last 4 years great!” He ended the Twitter statement with “#BEATnavy.”
