Long County wrapped up its season Friday with a 12-2 loss in five innings to McIntosh County Academy in Darien.
Ryan Simmons was charged with the loss and Aaron Turner earned the win.
Brandon Simmons led the Tide at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a 2-run homerun.
The game wraps up a disappointing season for the Blue Tide where injuries to the pitching staff plagued coach Wayne Sasser all year.
The Tide finished the season 3-11 in Region 2-AA, seventh out of eight teams, and 4-20 overall.
The coaching staff, however, expressed pride in the efforts of the team and said that even though it was a tough year the team would be better in the future.
“We got a lot of under-classmen plenty of varsity experience,”  assistant coach Brian Thomas said. “We graduated only one senior, and will have eight seniors back next year.”
Despite the disappointing season, the Tide played region champ Pierce County close on March 16, losing 3-2. The Tide also defeated playoff-bound Appling County 3-2 on March 30.
In addition to Pierce and Appling, Savannah Christian and Jeff Davis qualified for the Class AA state playoffs, which begin Friday.
