Blue Tide honor baseball seniors

The Long County High School baseball team recently had its Senior Night, honoring all graduating players.

Seniors recognized were Jeffery Edmondson, Joey Kuzlik, Gary Poppell, Tripp Stapleton, Matt Strickland and Deondrae Volcy.

Edmondson was escorted by his parents, Nikki and Jeffery Edmondson. He has played for the team for four years and is a member of the Beta Club. After high school, Edmondson plans on going to college to become a radiologist.

Kuzlik was escorted by his parents, Ashley and Joe Kuzlik. He also has played baseball for four years. Kuzlik plans on working and going to college.

Poppell was escorted by his parents, Shana and Robbie Skipper. He too has played baseball for the Blue Tide for four years. He plans to attend North Georgia University to major in athletic training.

Stapleton was escorted by his parents, Jennifer amd David Stapleton. He also played baseball for his entire high school career, and was a member of the football team. He hopes to continue pursuing his dream of playing baseball.

Strickland was escorted by his parents, Heather and Benji Strickland. He also played baseball for four years at Long County. Strickland said he is unsure about his plans after high school.

Volcy was escorted by his mother, Michelle Volcy. He has played baseball for four years and played on the Blue Tide football team. He hopes to major in business at college.
