Bradwell Institute and Long County are advancing to the second round of the boys’ state basketball tournament.
The Tigers beat host Valdosta 79-62 on Saturday in the Class AAAAAA tourney. Bradwell will play at Heritage at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in round two, according to GHSA.net.
In Class AAA, the Blue Tide won an 85-82 thriller over visiting Dougherty to advance. They play Central Macon either Wednesday or Thursday.
Liberty County fell 79-69 to Monroe in Albany in the boys’ AAA tourney.
The Liberty County Lady Panthers also lost on the road in the first round, losing 67-28 to Monroe.
Long County’s girls fell 58-52 to Cook County in Ludowici.
