SAVANNAH — The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa has announced a successful Holiday Golf Classic, part of the seventh annual Savannah Harbor Foundation Holiday Series.
Thanks to the generosity of about 30 area businesses, proceeds exceeding $15,000 will be donated to local children’s charities.
Winning teams earned many benefits, but perhaps the most rewarding was the opportunity to name some of the recipients of funding. The three winning teams and the charities they chose are:
• MPV Wallcovering, Backus Children’s Hospital
• Georgia Crown Distributing, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
• Seasons of Japan, Magdalene Project (Union Mission, shelter for women and children
The foundation is a 501(c)(3) incorporated to support local children’s charities, as well as to celebrate the spirit of family through offering family-oriented events to the community, such at the Trees for Life, Gingerbread Village and Holiday Concerts that are free and open to the public.
