Comcast to televise six GSU football games

STATESBORO - GSU Football will have six games televised live during the upcoming 2008 season.  For the fourth straight year, Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast will partner with Georgia Southern University to broadcast three games at Paulson Stadium. SportSouth will also broadcast two games as part of the Southern Conference's television package. The Eagles open the 2008 season at the University of Georgia, a game to be broadcast Pay Per View with kickoff at 12:30 p.m. More details on the Pay Per View package will be announced at a later date.
 Georgia Southern will have consecutive home games against Southern Conference competition televised on CSS. The Sept. 20 game against Elon and Sept. 27 contest against Wofford are scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. On Nov. 8, Georgia Southern renews its rivalry with the league's newest member, Samford. Kickoff on CSS is scheduled for 12 p.m.
Once again, the Eagles will have their game against Appalachian State and Furman televised. Both games will be shown on SportSouth, kickoff at 3 p.m.
