Former Liberty County High School Lady Panther track athlete Courtney Bennett notched another record for the Jacksonville (Alabama) State University Gamecocks during the 2016 Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Tennessee State May 14-15.

The Lady Gamecock freshman had a record-setting day, according to the school’s athletic website, posted a toss of 46 feet, 8.25 inches in the shot put — besting her former record toss and earning her a silver medal in the event.

Next weekend, Bennett and the Gamecocks track team will be competing in the NCAA East Regional meet being held in Jacksonville, Florida.
