Garcia crowned Long County homecoming queen

Samantha Rose Garcia was crowned the 2014 Long County homecoming queen at the half time of the Blue Tide’s football game Friday in Ludowici.

Garcia was escorted by her father, Matt; her mother is Kristie. She is a member of the varsity softball, basketball and soccer teams. As a senior, she also was selected as the most-popular senior superlative. After graduation, Garcia plans to study psychology at Armstrong State University. 

The underclassmen selected as princesses to Garcia’s court were junior Hannah Lindsey Gordon, sophomore Savannah Leigh Dozier and freshman Carrie Brianna Holtz.

Gordon, who is the daughter of Glen and Beth Gordon, was escorted by Noah Howard. She is a member of the varsity cheerleading squad and the Health Occupational Students of America club.

Dozier, the daughter of Chris and Dixie Dozier, was escorted by Gary Poppell. She is a member of the golf team, Blue Tide flag corps, literary team and the BETA club.

Holtz, the daughter of Shennen and Melissa Holtz, was escorted by Britt Crews. She is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America club.

Other class representatives participating in the ceremony included Avella Cannon, Kari Jones, Katelyn McGowan, Abby Horne, Skyla Moody, Adrienne Hall, Ashleah Page, Morgan Bennett, Charity Carter, Nichella Ciccone and Cheyanne Kuzlik.

Vannessa Blake, the 2013 homecoming queen, crowned the queen and the princesses.
