The Hinesville Gators 10U girls' team ended their inaugural season with a second-place finish in their district. The Gator girls traveled to Fayetteville to play in the State Recreation Cup and were edged out by one point on a goal differential after tying for first place in the tournament. They lost one game 1-0 when four players missed an afternoon game due to illness.
Coached by April Causer, the young Gators had an outstanding debut season, losing only one game during the regular season. Coach Causer had high praise for her girls.
"My girls learned quickly the value of teamwork." She said. "I am proud of how they came together. They show great potential and sportsmanship at such a young age. What is special about these girls is that they have also formed a friendship with each other that is evident on the field. When they win, they win together and when they lose they cheer each other up."
Girl's soccer in Hinesville is growing rapidly. To fill the need of the community, the Hinesville Gators have formed two new all-girl teams that will debut during the fall season. There are a few spots open for girls 10-12 years old and girls 12-14 years old. If you are interested in having your child play with the Hinesville Soccer Association, e-mail gator.soccer@yahoo.com"
