Highlanders back home after long stretch on road
football large

The First Presbyterian Christian Academy football team finally returns to Long Bell Stadium on Friday after playing four away games in a row.

The Highlanders host Bethlehem Christian at 7:30 p.m.

BCA’s program turns 5 years old this season, and much like the fledgling years of FPCA, it still is getting its bumps and bruises out of the way. BCA went 1-9 last year, but carried a roster of 30 players coming into the season.

This will be the first time these two teams play each other.

Currently, the teams each have a 1-5 overall record.
Last week, the Highlanders lost 38-12 to Southwest Georgia Academy in Damascus.

The game was physical, but the outcome showed improvement against a team that overpowered FPCA 47-12 a season ago.

Should the Highlanders come out strong Friday, it could give them some steam as they have a tough game hosting Memorial Day the following week. Memorial Day is the defending Class AA champion in the Georgia Independent School Association classifications and a region opponent for FPCA.
