Highlanders take first round of state playoffs
Will advance to state championship with winning series against Citizens Christian

First Preparatory Christian Academy won two of the best-of-three series against Georgia Christian in the first round of the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) state playoffs. 

According to assistant baseball coach Tony Harmon, the Highlanders won the first game 7-6 and the second game 8-0. In the first game, Carmon Harmon pitched four scoreless innings. River North had the game-winning RBI walkoff in the bottom of the seventh inning. James Osteen got the win.

In game 2, Cameron Eason pitched five innings of shutout. Evan North, Caleb Harmon and Cam Eason had RBI hits to put FPCA ahead.

The Highlanders now face Citizens Christian Academy of Douglas on Friday for a three-game series. I f the Highlanders manage to take the series, they will advance to the state championship game. FPCA has made it to the state title game in three of their last four seasons, with one season lost due to COVID.
