Former Bradwell Institute football player Ulrick John is expected to sign with the Green Bay Packers this week.

According to news reports on USA Today, John, who was on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad, flew out to Green Bay Monday as was expected to sign with the Packers Tuesday.

The Packers have lost all three of their starting offensive tackles to injuries. The report said John might even be tapped to play in the Packers' Thursday night game against the Bears.

John was the first native of Liberty County to be drafted into the National Football League in 2014. He was the seventh round pick by the Indianapolis Colts. He was signed by the Miami Dolphins in 2015 and then signed to the Cardinals in 2016.

He’s played in five NFL games with three starts.
