Hinesville’s traveling softball team, the Hinesville Katz, are in Rincon this week where they played two back-to back games against northern teams, losing both games.
The girls took the field against a Michigan team first and, despite a good game, lost 9-2.
Katz coach Misty Eastlake said her girls played well, but the caliber of talent and skills from the northern teams was much higher.
In game two, a team from Ohio beat the Katz in a closer battle, edging out the Hinesville girls 8-5.
The girls were scheduled to play more games Wednesday and Thursday in the Effingham County tournament and the Courier will bring you the results as they become available.
