Last year, Long County posted a 17-12 record and finished the year as the No. 16 AA team in the state, according to MaxPreps. The Lady Tide also beat Vidalia during the regular season. Until that game, Vidalia was undefeated and the number one team in the state.
Long County will see its first action of the year on Aug. 4, scrimmaging Brunswick. On Aug. 8, the two schools will play again, but this time it will be for real as both teams open the season in Glynn County.
