Savannah High’s Tim Quarterman sank a shot at the buzzer of regulation, forcing overtime against the Liberty County Panthers in Tuesday’s game in day one of the Joe Greene Tip-Off Tournament.
But Panther Julian Stokes sank a bucket with only a few ticks on the OT clock left, earning the Panthers a 68-67 win.
Future Miami Hurricane Rion Brown netted 21 points, but it was Stokes, fresh off the football field, who hit 5 of his 9 buckets and for the 1-point win.
Future Tennessee Volunteer Jordan McRae was held to 9 points and was ejected from the game in the fourth quarter for arguing with a Blue Jacket player.
Panther Greg Richardson hit 19, assisting the Panthers’ scoring.
