In the boys’ game, both teams were slow to get ball to basket. But as soon as the dust settled, Liberty started to gain the edge. The Panthers had a four-point lead at the close of the first and were up 43-28 by halftime with a three-pointer at the buzzer by Panther Davion Mitchell.

Mitchell had 8 three-pointers, plus fed teammate Richard LeCounte an alley-oop for the crowd. Tyriq Reece hit two treys and Tracy White hit a three-pointer during the final quarter.

Mitchell had 29 points. LeCounte added 17. Reece chipped in 14. And White added 10 for the double digit point shooters.
The win marks the Panthers’ 14th straight win. Saturday, the boys were set to play at Burke County. Friday they will play at Thomson.
