Liberty County’s boys basketball team enters the Region 3-AAA tournament on a positive note.
The Panthers finished the regular season with a 61-57 win over rival Long County, finishing at 11-10 overall and 8-5 in the region.
The Liberty County Lady Panthers ended the regular season on a slide.
The Lady Panthers fell 44-37 to the visiting Long County Blue Tide on Friday as freshman Bella Moore scored 11 points and Martiza Troche added eight points.
The loss was the third in a row for the Lady Panthers, 11-10 overall and 8-4 in Region 3-AAA, after an eight-game winning streak.
The Liberty boys play Jenkins on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the first round of the region tournament.
