Local private schools clean up at tourneys

Faith Baptist Christian Academy and First Presbyterian Christian Academy, both private schools in Liberty and Long counties, managed some wins at their respective tournaments last weekend.

After earning their 40th consecutive win Friday against Robert Toombs Academy (70-41), the Highlander boys got win No. 41 on Saturday, beating Bulloch Academy 78-46. The victory moved the ’Lander squad up one notch from No. 4 to No. 3 in Georgia, according to Maxpreps.com, a division of CBS sports.

The Highlanders are 11-0.

 

Faith Baptist

 

Ludowici’s Faith Baptist Crusaders were in Tampa, Fla., on Saturday at Central Florida Baptist School where they took an 81-70 win against R. M. Bailey High School from the Bahamas. Faith Baptist later defeated the host school 86-38 the same afternoon.

The Crusaders improve to 11-2 and are ranked 18th in the state, up three spots from last week.

They were scheduled to play Monday and Tuesday and the Courier will bring you the scores as they become available.
