The Long County High School baseball team beat Claxton, 6-5, Wednesday in Ludowici in a non-region game.
With the win, the Blue Tide improved their overall record to 10-9 while their 2-AA Region mark remained at 5-6.
Friday, Long County was back at home, taking on Benedictine Military Academy, who went into the game undefeated (6-0) in the region and boasting an overall record of 8-4.
Results for that game were not available at press time, but will be in this Wednesday’s paper.
Tuesday, the Blue Tide have another region showdown in Toombs County against Vidalia, which is 7-8 overall and 6-5 in the region. That game begins at 5:45 p.m.
