Bradwell alum earns trip to outdoor track championship

Former Bradwell Institute long jumper Josh McCullan will compete in this month’s NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, according to a report posted on rolltide.com.
McCullan, currently a sophomore at the University of Alabama, qualified for the championship meet by placing 10th at the NCAA East Region Preliminary on May 30 at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. McCullan leapt 24 feet, 9 inches to qualify. His jump at regionals was his personal best to date.
The national meet is June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore., according to ncaa.com.
According to his profile on rolltide.com, McCullan also placed 10th in the long jump at the SEC Indoor championships during the indoor season.
During his freshman year at Alabama, he recorded a leap of 23-8.75 at the SEC Indoor Championship Meet, placing ninth.
McCullan was named to the 2013 SEC All-Freshman Indoor Long Jump Team.
