Former Bradwell Tiger Quintunya Chapman finished sixth overall in the heptathlon during last weekend’s NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Chapman, a junior at the University of Georgia, was in ninth place midway through her events Friday afternoon. At that point, Chapman had finished in 11th place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.96 seconds, 21st in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 1.75 inches, and nabbed first-place finishes in shot put (41-8.5) and the 200 dash (24.26).
In her last three events Friday, she cleared 19-6 in the long jump for fourth place, threw the javelin 110-11 and was sixth in the 800 in 2:15.55.
This was Chapman’s first year competing in track multi-events.
The UGA women’s team finished fifth overall with 35 points. Texas A&M won the women’s team crown with 75 points.
