Riceboro native DeLisha Milton-Jones is in her 15th season with the WNBA.
The two- time Olympic gold medalist, two-time WNBA champion and three-time WNBA All-Star team member now is on the east coast of the United States, playing for the New York Liberty.
The Bradwell Institute alumnus started her WNBA career on the west coast with the Los Angeles Sparks from 1999-2004. She was traded to the Washington Mystics. She played in Washington for two seasons, returning to the Sparks from 2008 until last year.
In 2013, she played in 15 games with the San Antonio Silver Stars before the team released her. The New York Liberty picked her up, and she played in the final 11 games of the 2013 season with the Liberty, averaging 6.7 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game.
So far, the University of Florida grad has played in 17 games, averaging 6.1 points per game.
To date, she has played in 478 career games with 434 starts and has a career average of 11.5 points per game.
Milton-Jones is one of five players in WNBA history with more than 5,000 points and 2,400 rebounds. She ranks fourth all-time with 603 steals, fifth with 2,492 career rebounds, eighth with 5,415 points and 12th with 328 blocks, according to the WNBA.
