Three riders representing Dixie Stables in Liberty County were winners at the 36th Annual Pro-Am Benefit Classic Horse Show of Georgia, held April 3-6 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry.
Katie Martin won the Academy Showmanship WTC Championship, Sara Tirpak won in Academy Equitation WTC, and Samantha Hocking won the Open Parade Stake title.
In addition to Dixie Stables, Liberty County was represented at the event by Gravel Hills Farms. Riders from both barns combined to place in all 21 classes entered.  
The event drew competitors from 48 barns and stables from Illinois, Florida, Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and North and South Carolina. More than 580 individual entries and 300 horses participated in 158 competition classes.
All proceeds from the event went to the Ronald McDonald House of Central Georgia. According to Terry Johnson, secretary for the event’s board of directors, the event has raised more than $20,000 for the Ronald McDonald House.
The next show for the Liberty County show barns is Wildwood Stables Spring Horse Show on April 27 in Jesup.
