Former Tiger has good day for LaGrange

Former Bradwell Tiger football player Marsalis Jackson had a good first game as a wide receiver for LaGrange College in the team’s opener last weekend.
According to the school’s website, Jackson was selected as the school’s athlete of the week and the USA South Athletic Conference’s rookie of the week after the sophomore set a school record with three touchdown receptions in the Panthers’ 59-38 loss to Birmingham-Southern. He had four catches for 127 yards, averaging 31.8 yards per catch.
The 127 receiving yards were the second-most in a game by a Panther. Jackson also returned eight kickoffs for 151 yards, finishing the game with 278 all-purpose yards.
LaGrange next faces Millsaps at 2 p.m. Saturday in Jackson, Miss.
