The First Presbyterian Christian Academy junior-varsity cross-country team  got strong individual performances at a meet Sept. 10 in Macon.
In the boys’ division, FPCA had three top-10 placers out of  164 runners. Simon Steele Jr. finished fifth, Daviyon Dotson finished sixth and Isiah Dickey finished 10th. As a team, the Highlanders finished second.
“Our JV boys may have won the trophy, but at FPCA, we consider it a team trophy because the team supports each other,” FPCA coach Simon Steele said. “At practice, we all motivate each other and push each other to reach that next level.”
In the girls’ division, Hannah Burkett finished in fourth place out of 127 runners.
“Hannah Burkett is going to continue to get better,” Coach Steele said. “Hannah Burkett is talented enough to run with the boys and finish in the top 10.”
