The Long County High School softball team honored one of its own Sept. 13 between its two games with Saint Vincent’s Academy in Ludowici.
Senior Erica Golden, the Blue Tide’s lone senior, was recognized by her team and given a bouquet of flowers by head coach Brian Thomas as the team held a celebration for her.
“Erica is such a great person. I’m so proud of her accomplishments,” Thomas said. “She is the kind of person that makes everyone around her better, and I’m a better person for having known her.”
Golden has played for the Lady Tide all four years of high school.
During the ceremony, a recording played in which each team member told how they felt about Golden.  She was escorted by her parents, Mike and Melissa Golden, during the festivities.
Erica also is class president and a member the Elim Baptist Church youth praise team.
