In only its second year of play, the Long County High School girls’ soccer team will hit the field today to play in the first round of the Class 2-AA state tournament.
The Lady Tide (10-4 overall record) will face on Putnam County (11-5) at 6 p.m. in Eatonton.
The Lady Eagles go into the playoffs hot, having won eight of their last nine games and outscored their opponents, 56-6, in that span
Long County also goes in on fire. The Lady Tide are riding a four-game win streak, during which they have dominated their opponents, 41-0.
On paper, the game is fairly even, with MaxPreps.com rating the Lady Tide at No. 55 in the state and the Lady Eagles at No. 67.
