Long County High School’s football/competition cheerleading squad recently hosted its first summer camp.
This is the first year that the high school has had a competition team and the girls were eager to get ready for the upcoming season. The camp was from June 3-7 at the high school. Campers learned sideline cheers and band dances for the upcoming football games.
Coaches Rachel Wilkes and Bethany Gilliam were the primary instructors. They were assisted by the Stingray All-stars Cheerleading Company in Marietta. Robin Chornock, who is a choreographer with the company, taught the squad a competition routine they will perform at competition this fall.
Members of the squad include Morgan Bennett, Deliza Vasquez, Adrienne Hall, Jessi Lynn Gutierrez, Kylie Proffitt, Amber Walker, Taylor Duncan, Courtney Willis, Alyssa Butler, Shanta Johnson, Ashley Middleton, Charity Carter, Aisha Johnson, Angel Chappell, Chrishawna Thomas, Hannah Gordon, Lillian Belue, and Ja’Nya Bryant.
