The Long County Touchdown Club is looking for help for the upcoming season.
According to President Kim Stock, the purpose of the club is to work directly with Blue Tide head coach Ron Flott in supporting the team.
“I’m looking forward to a great year. We have a lot of good people and businesses who support the team, but we also are always looking for new members who can help,” Stock said.
She said that some of the ways the club helps the team is by furnishing meals before and after games and during the team’s summer camp, purchasing cleats and providing pride packs for each player.
She said the club bought new jerseys for the team this year.
She said the club raises money by selling concessions during games, selling advertisements in the team’s programs, obtaining sponsors to place signs at Veterans Stadium and having a golf tournament each March.
“There are several ways that people can help, whether you want to buy a sign and be in the Gold Club, or just buy a raffle ticket from us or a dinner when we are selling them. No donation is too small, and everything helps,” Stock said.
She said the club meets weekly during football season and once a month during the offseason.
The meetings are at Smiley Elementary School.

This year’s other club officers are Vice President Ricardo Toledo, Treasurer Paula Golden and Secretary Amy Goodro-Smith.
