Multi-sport athlete Vanda Vereen Jr. recently was recognized at the National Underclassman Combine in Marietta. Vereen, who excels at both football and basketball for the Blue Tide, competed in the combine March 30 at Lassiter High School. The combine consisted of several different events, and each athlete was given a score for all of his efforts. After all of the scores were tabulated, Vereen, who is a junior at Long County High School, was named the Most Valuable Camper in the 5-Star U1000 Competition. Long County High School athletic director Karen Swindell was pleased with the outcome.
“We are proud of Vanda, and we look forward to a great senior year with him,” she said.
