According to allfortennessee.com, former Liberty County High School basketball player Jordan McRae was named to the All-Southeastern Conference first team during the preseason picks and predictions that took place just before SEC media day last week.
McRae had a breakout season last year. The Volunteer guard played in 33 games with 22 starts, and averaged 33.6 minutes and 15.7 points per game. McRae, who is entering his senior year, is expected to once again be the team’s top scorer for the season.  He was named to All-SEC last season both by the league’s coaches and the Associated Press, according to govolsxtra.com.
He has career totals of 118 assists, 59 blocks and 48 steals.
Tennessee was picked to finish third in the conference, behind Kentucky and Florida.
The Vols have two preseason games in Knoxville before opening the regular season against Xavier on Nov. 12 in Cincinnati.
