Panthers fall in baseball

The Liberty County High School baseball team lost to Benedictine, 11-3, on Thursday in Savannah. The boys’ game against Brantley County, scheduled for Friday, was postponed due to rain and will be rescheduled. The Panthers hosted a doubleheader against Windsor Forest on Saturday. Those scores will be in Wednesday’s Coastal Courier.
Long County’s baseball team defeated Bryan County, 10-4, Thursday in Pembroke.  The Blue Tide improved their record to 2-1. On Tuesday, the Tide are back at home for their first Region 2-AA game of the year when they take on Jeff Davis High School at 6 p.m.  in Ludowici.
In soccer, the Bradwell Institute girls’ team lost to Ware County, 4-1, Thursday at Freedom Field. The Tiger boys lost 6-4 and currently are 1-3-0 overall.
