Race honors FDNY
Registration for the Tunnel to Towers Savannah 5K run/walk is set for 8 a.m. Sept. 13.
The third annual event honors the legacy of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller along with his 342 FDNY first responders who sacrificed their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.
Proceeds benefit the Tunnel to Towers Run Foundation’s various programs including Building for America’s Bravest, which constructs specially adapted homes for injured service members. The run also will feature The Siller Cup Firefighter Challenge. Teams of four or more firefighters from across the nation are expected to compete for a traveling trophy.
The run also is looking for children to be involved in a memorial tribute to honor each fallen FDNY firefighters. To sign  up a child, contact the committee at Savannah@tunnel2towers.org.

Register online at www.t2trun.org, at Fleet Feet Sports at 3405 Waters Ave. in Savannah, or on race day at Orleans Square. The fee is $25 through Friday, $30 through Sept. 10 and then $40.
