MLK Golf Tournament set

The Liberty County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Observance Association will host its ninth annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on April 13 at the Cherokee Rose Country Club.  
Deadline to register is April 10. The organization is looking to sign up at least 16 teams. The annual golf tournament is the last in a series of events this year to benefit the organization’s scholarship awards.

Smiley Golf Tournament is April 20
The fifth annual John E. Smiley Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 20 at the Cherokee Rose Country Club in Hinesville. The entry fee is $50 per person and the format is a four-person scramble.
Registration begins at
8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
This year’s tournament will benefit Micah Smiley, 6, who has been diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoblastic T-cell lymphoma.

Junior ABA training
under way at YMCA
Training for future American Basketball Association players is from 1-3 p.m. Sundays at the YMCA. It is open to boys and girls ages 6-14. There is a one-time, $20 registration fee and a weekly fee of $10. For more information, call 610-3092.
