Ten-under all-stars play in state baseball tourney

The Long County 10-under all-star baseball team is playing in the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association state tournament after finishing second at the Class C District Tournament, held June 21-26 in Hazlehurst.
“2002 was the last year a Long County team made it to the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association Baseball State Tournament. We are extremely proud of these kids and wish them the best of luck in bringing home a state title,” Long County Recreation Department Director Michelle Rogers said.
In the district tourney, Long County made it to the championship game, but fell to Pierce County.  
Long County was scheduled to open state-tourney play against Irwin County on Thursday in Screven County.  The tourney will wrap up  Saturday.  
Members of the Long County team are Joseph Commack, T.J. Criswell, Kyle Duncan, Daniel Edwards, Blake Holland, Noah Kuhaneck, Matthew Marchand, Austin Pitts, Trevor Ray, Justin Thomas, Ethan Williams and Luke Wells. The team is coached by Randy Williams, Joey Edwards, Justin Thomas, Tommy Holland, Dino Commack and John Kuhaneck.
