Long County High School held its senior night last Thursday for graduating students who participated in the basketball program.  
This year, there were 11 players recognized from the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams and the cheerleading squad.
Cheerleaders honored were Tyann Brown, Morgan McGowan and Trysten Ross. Brown has been a member of the cheerleading squad for all four years of her high school career. She was escorted by her mother, Denise, and plans to attend Altamaha Technical College to become a cosmetologist.
For McGowan and Ross, this was their first year as members of the Tide cheerleading squad. McGowan plans to attend South Georgia State College with the goal of becoming a registered nurse, and Ross will attend Armstrong Atlantic State University to become a preschool teacher. McGowan was escorted by her parents, Beth and Tad, and her stepmother, Krisdean, while Ross was escorted by her mother, Stephanie Masterson, and her brother, Dalton.
Girls’ basketball team members honored included Kadeja Green, Kicha May and Vannessa Blake.  
Green has played three years for the Lady Tide and is a member of the Beta Club. She was escorted by her mother, Fealice, and plans to attend college to become a certified athletic trainer. May also has been on the team for three years and, like Green, is a member of the Beta Club. She was escorted by her mother, Shannon May, and plans to enter the Air Force.
For Blake, who was the team’s manager, this was her first year on the Lady Tide and is in the Beta Club. Blake was escorted by her parents, Mary and Brian, and plans to become a cosmetologist and eventually own her own shop.
Boys’ basketball team members honored were James Francis, Quadre Holsendolph, Zachery Gay, Gage Kasperian and Vanda Vereen Jr.  
Francis and Holsendolph each have been on the team for three years. Francis plans to join the military and attend college. Holsendolph plans to become a psychiatrist. Francis was escorted by his mother, Marion, while Holsendolph was escorted by his parents, Gerald and Katina Williams.
Gay, Kasperian and Vereen were on the team for their entire high-school careers.  Gay, who plans to attend Armstrong Atlantic University, was escorted by his parents, Angel and Patrick Jones.
Kasperian was escorted by his parents, Eric and Tammy, and plans to become a physical therapist.
Vereen was escorted by his parents, Vanda and Totlisa, and plans to enter the Navy.
