Big cats don’t normally take to water, but the Bradwell Tigers’ baseball team dipped their paws in the ocean.
The Tigers ended up taking a bite out of the Island High School Sharks in their 8-4 win in Region 3-AAAAA action Friday afternoon in Savannah.
Tiger pitcher Jacob Dill claimed the win, striking out 11 batters and walking two.
The Hinesville boys scored two runs in the first inning but allowed the Sharks to get ahead when they scored three runs in the second.
Powered by home runs from Xavier John and Sage Sammons, Bradwell battled back by scoring three runs in the third and three in the seventh.
The Tigers’ only gave up one more run to the Sharks in the fourth.
John went 1-for-3, Sammons finished 1-for-2, Dill went 2-for-4 and Tiger Kyle Lannom was 2-for-3.
BI is 8-8 overall and 7-3 in the region and still holding on to the fourth-place spot.
