The 12-and-under Long County All-Star baseball team competed in the sub-district tournament last Monday in Pooler, netting a win and a loss.

In the first game, the team defeated the Pooler All-Stars 2-1. Tripp Stapleton hit a walk-off home run to seal the victory.

In the second contest, the outcome wasn’t bright, but the game was just as exciting. The Ludowici team hit five home runs but came up short and lost 14-17 to Jeff Davis County. However, the Long County team took its opponent into 10 innings.

All-Stars Trae Stapleton, Christian Hall and Tripp Stapleton all nailed home runs and Brian Lester crushed two homers.
