The Long County golf team completed the season recently with the girls taking fourth place and the boys fifth in Region 2-AA tournament.
In addition to doing well on the greens, coach Don Pelton said that this year the team increased in size and that all of the players worked hard throughout the season.
“The team grew this year, almost tripling our numbers from last year, we had many new golfers and several returning from last year, improvement was visible every day we played and our scores at the regional golf tournament were a testament to the hard work every athlete put into the season,” he said.
Pelton said the team’s future looks bright.
“I am so proud of every one of these athletes and am already looking forward to next year,” he said.
Members of the boys’ team were Seth Rentz, James Goober, Eric Phillips, Cody Bolick, Colton Ziegler and Gavin Allen. The girls’ team members were Victoria Pelton, Savanna Dozier, Breana Harmon and Korsha Brown.
