Long Commission salutes young ball players

The Long County Commission Tuesday recognized the Long County 10-and-under All-Star baseball team for winning the Georgia Recreation Parks Association Class C championship. The boys won the title last month by defeating Putnam County 14-0 in the championship game.
Commission Chairman Robert Long told the boys and coaches he was proud of their accomplishment and thanked them for their efforts. Other commissioners attending the ceremony were Gerald Blocker, Dwight Gordon and Willie Thompson.
Members of the team are Jake Cooper, Blake Holland, Zachary Swindell, Dewayne Rowe, Kaleb Jones, Joseph Cammack, Alex Ashley, Cole Moss, Daniel Edwards, Giovanni Jackson, Noah Kuhaneck, and Luke Hendrix. Coaches are Tommy Holland, Joey Edwards, John Kuhaneck and Dean Cammack.
Henry Strickland is recreation department director.
