The Long County 10U Baseball team finished up their season by coming in as runners-up.
Their coach, Derek Hatfield, had some glowing words for the amount of dedication his boys into this season.
"We actually played the real game of baseball. These boys actually pitched from the pitcher’s mound."
He further went on in detail about the amount of time they spent in practice.
"We were practicing four days a week and two hours each practice."
Assistant coach Brad Boynton had sound advice for boys:
"It's all about controlling attitude and effort," said Boynton.
Coach Boynton further shared Coach Hatfield's enthusiasm and hard work the boys displayed in addition to the incredible amount of support they received.
"Looking at this season and the boys, the only way for them is up," said Coach Boynton. "With the young aces we have in this county, if they stick with it, they'll accomplish a lot."
Coach Boynton also gave equal praise to the city for cheering them on.
"The support from the community and all the families is what makes small-town baseball fun."
