COLUMBUS - The Columbus Blue Devils scored eight runs in the second inning on their way to a 12-0 win over Long County in the Class AAA state softball tournament.
The loss ended the Lady Blue Tide’s season.
The Tide fell 10-2 to Pike County in the first game of the super regional, hosted by Columbus, before rebounding with a 15-1 win over Hephzibah.
Columbus slipped into the loser’s bracket with a 6-5 loss to Pike County.
Pike County earned the super regional’s spot in the Elite Eight in Columbus with a 3-2 win.
