Long County Recreation teams place well at state

The 10U Boys Live baseball team won it all at the state competition after finishing as the runner-up at district. The Long County Recreation Department All-Star Teams were on fire at the 2022 Georgia Recreation and Park Association Class C state baseball/ softball tournament last week. 

The LCRD sent eight teams to compete in the GRPA District 2 tournament two weeks ago, and five of those eight teams advanced to the GRPA state tournament last week.

Listed below are the results from the 2022 district and state tournaments:

 • 8U Girls Machine — district runner-up, second runner-up at state

• 8U Boys Machine — fourth place at district

• 10U Girls Machine — fourth place at district

• 10U Boys Live — district runner-up, state champions

• 12U Girls Fast Pitch — district champions, second runner-up at state

• 14U Girls Fast Pitch — district champions, third place at state

• 14U Boys Live — district champions, fifth place at state

8U girls softball
The 8U Girls Machine softball team was the runner-up at district and second runner-up at state.
