Long Countys Lady Tide go 1-1 over the weekend

The Long County girls’ basketball team went 1-1 over the weekend, picking up a win over Bryan County and falling to Ware County.
Friday, the Lady Tide played the Lady Redskins in Pembroke in a big Region 2-AA game. The contest was competitive, with both teams playing hard.

But when time expired, Long County had notched the 64-54 win. With the loss, Bryan County fell to 10-7 overall and 4-5 in the region.

Saturday, the Lady Tide were back in the friendly confines of Ludowici, facing 3-AAAAA opponent Ware County (7-9). This game went back and forth all night, but the Lady Gators were too much for Ludowici, pulling out the victory 61-53.

As of Monday, Long County was 14-6 overall and 7-2 in the region. It has the No. 3 spot in region standings, one game behind Vidalia which is 15-2 overall and 8-1 in the region, and a half game behind Jeff Davis County, which is 16-1 overall and 6-1 in the region.

Tuesday, the Lady Tide took on the Lady Yellow Jackets in Ludowici. Results for that game were not available by press time.

Friday, Long County is at home again for another region contest against Groves. As of Monday, the Lady Rebels were 4-12 overall and 1-
5 in the region. The girls game begins at 6 p.m.

Friday is also homecoming for Long County with a king and court to be crowned.
