Loss evens Lady Tides record

Saturday, the Lady Tide fell to Wayne County 57-50. Their third loss in a row, dropping the team to 5-5.

The Long County girls fell to Wayne County on Saturday 57-50 in Ludowici.

The non-region loss was the third in a row for the Lady Tide, dropping them to 5-5 overall. Though the Long County girls have struggled recently, they still are tied for third in Region 2-AA with Bryan County.

The current standings show Vidalia on top with a 5-0 record (10-1 overall), followed by Jeff Davis at 4-0 (11-0), Long County and Bryan County, both 3-2 (Long is 5-5 and Bryan is 6-3), McIntosh County, 2-2 (3-6), Saint Vincent’s, 1-3 (4-5), Groves, 0-4 (0-8) and Bacon County, 0-5 (0-8).

The Lady Tide are off until Dec. 28, when they play in the Portal Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament in Bulloch County. That Friday, they take on Emmanuel County Institute (2-3) and then on Saturday they play host team Portal (3-5). The ECI game begins at 3:30 p.m. and the Portal game at 5:30 p.m.
