Days after beating Notre Dame 44-28 in the Fiesta Bowl, former Liberty County football player Raekwon McMillan was named a captain for the 2016 Buckeyes squad.

This season, the sophomore, was the starting middle linebacker.

According to a report on Eleven Warriors, McMillan and teammates Pat Elflein and J.T. Barrett were named as captains Thursday. Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said they didn’t need to wait on making the announcement because it was such an obvious decision.

“McMillan was ready when he walked in the door to be honest with you,” Ohio State defensive coordinator and linebacker coach Luke Fickell told reporters.
