Mike Reed, general manager of NeSmith Chevrolet in Hinesville, announced recently that the dealership is "going to bat" for area youth baseball teams through Chevrolet’s "Building Diamonds and Dreams" program, which gives communities across America a chance to win a home-field makeover. NeSmith believes our community has a good shot at winning the contest if enough residents go online to enter, Reed said.

"Chevy’s ‘Building Diamonds and Dreams’ program is another facet of our commitment to youth baseball programs across America," the general manager said. "Every kid wants and deserves a ‘dream’ baseball diamond and we have a chance to get it. We need our residents to go online and enter our community."

To enter, Hinesville residents can go to www.chevybaseball.com and enter the zip code 31313. An ongoing tally of the most frequently entered zip codes will be displayed on the Web site. Five winners will be drawn from the zip codes submitted, and entering a code more than once will increase a community’s chances of being selected. Chevrolet has partnered with The Scotts Company, MLB Advanced Media and Major League Baseball to kick-start the program, which coincided with MLB Opening Day on April 5 and continues until the MLB All-Star Game on July 16.

"We have a chance to do something great for the kids if we can get enough folks to enter," Reed said.

Each resident who enters a zip code online has a chance to win a new Chevy Malibu, Traverse, Equinox or Silverado.

"We are excited to help refurbish fields in communities across the country and we want to extend our thanks to those who enter their community by offering them a chance to win a new Chevy vehicle," said Phil Caruso, Chevrolet national promotions manager.
