Nine FPCA Highlanders named to GISA All Region Teams, Homecoming Court selected

Haley Stuart and Cameron Nunn were named Homecoming Queen and King during halftime of the Highlander basketball games Saturday, Jan. 26.  Homecoming court nominees were Skyler Jenkins, Timothy Christensen, Kyle Duncan, Alex Harper, Grayson Carter, Ella Causey, Kendrick Sarles, and Helena Scott. 

The Lady Landers defeated Memorial Day 48-16 and the Highlander Men won 91-75.

Currently number one in the region, the Highlander men are preparing for the 2AA Region Tournament.  FPCA is scheduled to face the 4th seed (Memorial Day School) today, Feb 7 at St. Andrews school in Savannah.  In previous matchups against Memorial Day, the Highlanders are 2-1.  The winner of this game will go on to face the winner of the 2nd (St. Andrews) and 3rd (Robert Toombs) seed match Saturday, Feb. 9.  In previous results against St. Andrews, the Highlanders are 1-1.  Against Robert Toombs, the Highlanders are also 1-1. 

The Lady Landers are currently 2nd in the region.  Today, they are set to face #3 St. Andrews. At this time, the Lady Highlanders are 2-0 against St. Andrews.  The winner of this game will face the winner of the 1st (Robert Toombs) and 4th (Twiggs Academy) seed match on Saturday.  The girls are 0-2 against Robert Toombs and 2-0 against Twiggs. 

The Highlanders have nine basketball players named to the GISA All Region Team.  For the Men: Cameron Nunn, Tray Mormon, Dae’shon Carmon, Matthais Brown, and Sheldon Lewis.  For the Lady Landers: Taniyah Bowman, Brianna Thomas, Desiah Vincente, and Helana Scott.
