Olson, Carr, Edwards take medalist wins

Josh Olson, Eddie Carr and Patrick Edwards grabbed medalist honors this past week at Cherokee Rose Country Club during the Jake Blitz.

The trio will be competing in the Cherokee Rose Club Championship this weekend with Carr and Edwards as former champions.

Points winners for the week were Jason Perry, Rick Lovelady on Wednesday with +8, Angel Cordero, Bubba Wiggins and Shank Shuman +8 for Saturday’s round with Shuman also grabbing Sunday’s round with +11.

Cherokee Rose also holds a four-person scramble every Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. Players are invited to show up by 12:30 and will be paired with other participants for the 18-hole scramble.

Cherokee Rose will be holding its Club Championship this Saturday and Sunday. The course will be closed to public play during the tournament.

The Cherokee Rose Country Club Jake Blitz is held every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.  Sign up times end at 8:30 am on Wednesday and Saturday with start time at 9:00 am. Sign up time ends at 12:30 pm on Sunday with start at 1:00 pm. Golfers are paired into groups and are on a points system. Course members and the public are invited to play.
