With 5.1 seconds left on the clock and a tie score at 64, it appeared the game between the Beach High Bulldogs and the Liberty County would go into overtime. Jordan McRae and Brown had 16 points each, while Roderick Jones added 10.
In the girls game, Beach capitalized on several turnovers en route to a 54-38 victory over the Lady Panthers.
With University of South Carolina coach Dawn Staley watching, USC signee Monique Willis poured in 19 points for Beach. Alabama-Birmingham recruit Khalilah Watson added 12.
